Children Playing Tug of War

Athletics.

Stay Active can work with your school to assist in developing, implementing and coordinating an Athletics program which can be integrated into your schools existing curriculum. All activities are aligned to learning outcomes and standards from the Australian Health and Physical Education Curriculum.

Program content:

The skills students will learn include: running, jumping and throwing. Using the Playing for Life approach, our Children's Sports Facilitators use games rather than drills to introduce the skill being delivered. Each session is designed purposefully, so that the games progressively introduce and develop the particular skill that is the focus of the session.

Format:

Stay Active can deliver a once-off Athletics session to kick off your school's PE Week or National Health and Physical Education Day

We can also begin your PE Program with a 4-week block of sessions (e.g. every Friday for 4-weeks) facilitated by Stay Active to encourage participation and ongoing engagement. Where possible, we also work with your school's existing timetable to ensure minimal disruption to the student learning environment.

Equipment:

To promote ongoing participation in sport and physical activity beyond the delivery of our programs, Stay Active endeavours to utilise any sports equipment available at the school and/or OSHC. However it is important to note that this will be discussed with the school prior to scheduling the program.
