Table Tennis.

Stay Active has a partnership with Table Tennis Australia through Sporting Schools which means you can book us directly for your next Spinneroos program. Table Tennis Australia’s Spinneroos program introduces students to the sport of Table Tennis through a progressive range of fun and engaging lessons and activities.

Stay Active can work with your school to assist in developing, implementing and coordinating a Table Tennis program which can be integrated into your schools existing curriculum. All activities are aligned to learning outcomes and standards from the Australian Health and Physical Education Curriculum.

Program content:

The skills students will learn include: ball control, footwork, forehand and backhand strokes and serving. Using the Game Sense approach, amongst other benefits, students will be engaged in minor and modified game strategies and concepts where there are opportunities to develop both skills and an understanding of the tactics of the game.

Format:

Stay Active can deliver a once-off Table Tennis session to kick off your school's PE Week or National Health and Physical Education Day (Please note: one-off sessions cannot be funded through Sporting Schools).

We can also begin your PE Program with a 4-week block of sessions (e.g. every Friday for 4-weeks) facilitated by Stay Active to encourage participation and ongoing engagement. Where possible, we also work with your school's existing timetable to ensure minimal disruption to the student learning environment.

Equipment:

To promote ongoing participation in sport and physical activity beyond the delivery of our programs, Stay Active endeavours to utilise any sports equipment available at the school and/or OSHC. However it is important to note that this will be discussed with the school prior to scheduling the program. This program can also be modified to run without tables.

Qualification:

Stay Active coaches have completed Table Tennis Australia's TOPS Accreditation course which qualifies them to run Table Tennis programs in primary schools.
