Stay Active has a partnership with Cycling Australia through Sporting Schools which means you can book us directly for your next Ride Nation Schools program. Ride Nation Schools has replaced Let's Ride as Cycling Australia's national participation program and supports children in guiding them through the stages of the program to provide parents with a peace of mind that they will develop the skills to become safe and responsible riders.

The Ride Nation Schools program links with the national PDHPE curriculum which allows teachers to extend the lessons from the coaching sessions into the classroom! This program is a fantastic opportunity for schools to help support positive change by creating a healthy lifestyle, developing road safety skills and using active travel as a viable form of transport.

Program content:

Stay Active is accredited to run the Ride Nation - Skills (playground) program, which is the first of the three levels. This six week program focuses on developing the essential bike control skills of braking, balancing and riding. The skills learnt in this program will allow them to ride around in traffic free environments (school yard, park and around the block).

Format:

Stay Active can deliver a once-off Cycling session to kick off your school's PE Week or National Health and Physical Education Day. (Please note: one-off sessions cannot be funded through Sporting Schools).
We can also begin your PE Program with a 4-week block of sessions (e.g. every Friday for 4-weeks) facilitated by Stay Active to encourage participation and ongoing engagement. Where possible, we also work with your school's existing timetable to ensure minimal disruption to the student learning environment.

The coach to participant ratio is strictly 1:15.

Equipment:

Stay Active encourages children and parents to provide their own bike during our Ride Nation - Skills (playground) program. If your school needs to hire bikes, this will be an additional cost. However, it is important to note this will be discussed with the school prior to scheduling the program.

Qualification:

Stay Active coaches have completed the Cycling Australia Schools Teacher (CAST) course which qualifies them to run Ride Nation programs in primary schools.
